Safeguarding

Central Region Schools Trust and all of its schools fully recognises its responsibilities for safeguarding children and young people. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils by protecting children from maltreatment; preventing the impairment or development of mental and physical health and by ensuring that children are growing up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care. This is in accordance with the principles established by the Children Acts 1989 and 2004; the Education Act 2002; and in line with government publications; “Working Together to Safeguard Children” and Keeping Children Safe in Education.

If you have a concern about the behaviour, conduct or suitability of an adult working with children at our school, it is important that you report this as soon as possible.

Concerns relating to any member of staff, volunteer or visitor should be reported to the Principal, Sarah Allen.

If your concern relates to the Principal, you should contact the Chair of Governors, Doug Mills.

If your concern relates to both the Principal and the Chair of Governors, or if you feel unable to raise the concern with them, you should contact the CEO, Guy Shears.

All concerns will be taken seriously and dealt with promptly, fairly and in accordance with our safeguarding and allegations management procedures. The welfare and safety of children is always our highest priority.

If you are a pupil at Oak Hill First School and you are worried about yourself, your friend or a member of your family, you can talk to any member of staff.
