Supporting Families

Supporting Families at Oak Hill

At Oak Hill First School we see the challenges that families face in bringing up children. There may be times when you need extra help and support. If this is the case, please come and talk to us. There are many ways in which we can help.

We can also help to plan specific support for families in the forms of a ‘My Plan’ where we can work together with parents to set out the ways the school and other agencies and you can work together to achieve the best for your child and family.

Early help means providing support as soon as a problem begins, at any point in a child’s life, from early years all the way through to teenage years.

There may be times when you need extra help and support. If this is the case, please get in touch. We will send out a Supporting Families questionnaire to find out more about your concerns and some general background about your child. This means we can be prepared when we arrange the initial meeting.

Once we have met, we will often send out some initial advice sheets or links to course that will be useful for parent/carers to do. We may also arrange a meeting with parent/carers to discuss concerns further before agreeing on actions for home and school.

At Oak Hill First School, Supporting Families Team meet once a week to discuss any parental concerns. This team includes:

Designated Safeguarding Lead

Mrs Hopcroft

Mrs Winterbourn
